All Major SDA trials are to include demonstrations and

some form of entertainment. A recent trial held in Tennessee included a police K-9 demo by the Chattanooga, TN. Police Department. Special thanks also goes to the Sullivan Family Band. They put on a great show Saturday night. Special thanks to Terrie Lane and Susan Fisher for the below trial pictures. Finally, thanks for all who came from as far away as Georgia, Illinois, Connecticut and New Jersey.

Barry & K-9 performing the Practical Protection Routine for

the PD-2. This routine requires two muzzle engagements.

Here the handler orders the helper dressed in street clothing

to come closer. The helper refuses. Therefore, the K-9 will be

ordered to engage the helper.

After a short engagement, the dog is called

off.

For the second muzzle engagement, the helper wears head

protection gear. The helper is instructed to lie down with

hands under the chest as though he may have a weapon.

The helper refuses to show his hands and is verbally

hostile. After a warning the dog is sent in and must engage.

Here the handler is moving in to remove the dog.
